The Most Amazing Interview with Disney Legend Bob Gurr featuring Tim Delaney

Welcome to one of the most exciting shows in the history of the Disney Avenue Podcast. Today’s guest is no stranger to the Disney community and has always been a man on the move. For nearly 40 years, he has helped move countless Disney theme park guests aboard vehicles and ride conveyances of his own design. As he’s often stated, “If it moves on wheels at Disneyland, I probably designed it.” And he certainly has. He has developed more than 100 designs for attractions ranging from Autopia and Matterhorn Bobsleds to the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Monorails. He is the one and only Bob Gurr. This is a show you won't want to miss...

Bob has an amazing new documentary coming out soon titled, Bob Gurr: Turning Dreams into Reality which we’ll be discussing among other highlights from his storied career working with Walt. You can learn more about the film and how to buy yourself a copy by clicking HERE.

And, as if having Bob on the Disney Avenue Podcast wasn’t enough, legendary former Imagineer Tim Delaney, who was our very first guest here on the show, is joining us today as a very special cohost. Teaming up with a big named former Imagineer like Tim Delaney to interview the great Bob Gurr has not only created a spectacular show for our listeners to experience, but has been a dream come true.

  1. Wow! What a show! The production is top notch and the guests just keep getting better and better. Unfortunately, a lot of other Disney podcasts are redundant and get boring after only a few minutes. But this podcast is my all time favorite as it is always intriguing and a pleasure to listen to from start to finish. I recommend the Disney Avenue Podcast to everyone I know. Keep up the great work guys!

    1. Thank you George. Doing these shows is hard work but it's comments like these that make it all worth it. Really appreciate it.

  2. Congrats, Keith. This is easily your best interview yet! Bob was on fire, full of funny, informative -- and even some brand new -- stories. And that last bit about what it takes to become an Imagineer was BRILLIANT!!!

That said, a big part of this interview's magic was also due to YOU. Your ease and engagement with Mr. Gurr -- er, Bob -- was wonderful. Listening to your podcasts over the past few years, I can really hear you making great strides as both an interviewer and a host. (That's not to say that you weren't good at both to begin with!)

I just wanted you to know that your listeners -- would it embarrass you if I called myself a 'fan'? -- truly appreciate what you are doing here, and I look forward to seeing what you've got in store for us in the future!

    1. WOW, thank you very much for those words of encouragement. You have no idea how much they mean to me. I agree with you 100% that I have been finding my groove with these interviews as time goes on and am to a point where I am pretty comfortable doing them. It's funny when I go back and listen to the early shows and realize I had no clue what I was doing really, but thankfully these Disney legends are so easy to talk to. I got a bit more comfortable as each one went on. These are the people I grew up admiring and so it's nerve–racking getting the chance to speak to them. But the more I talk with them the more I realize how down to earth they all are. I think that's a huge reason why they are so special.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate you writing in to say this. It's always nice to hear when your work is enjoyed and it's kind folks like you that make it all worth wild.
