Evacuating Spaceship Earth

By Keith Mahne

What is it about seeing a Disney attraction with the lights on that gets us Disney fans all excited? For me, it's getting to see our favorite experiences in a whole new way. It also allows us to see the extreme detail the Imagineers produce in creating these marvelous scenes like no other company can. (except maybe with Harry Potter, although most of Universal Creative are ex-Imagineers) Today, we'll get an up close and personal look at Spaceship Earth during an evacuation and also with the lights on. Let's get to it, shall we...

To start, let's check out these two videos featuring Spaceship Earth during an evacuation. Sadly, you can hear the person recording mention his battery was about to go out, regardless we get a few minutes of pure excitement.

Up next, we get a chance to walk around the catwalks inside Spaceship Earth! As you can imagine the view is stunning:

And finally, let's have a look at one of Kevin Yee's amazing Photo Finds! In it Kevin will explain the attraction as he rode it with the work lights on. It features some great shots that you normally would never get to see:

So there you have it! It really is incredible the amount of work and detail the Imagineers put into these amazing Disney attractions! Sometimes we don't get to see or even notice some of the things they create, but them being there is what makes these experiences so special and also makes them...well...Disney attractions and that's why we love em! Hope you enjoyed today's article and please be sure to leave us your thoughts in the comments below.
