Experience New Year's Eve at Disneyland in 1967

By Keith Mahne

If I offered you the opportunity to experience New Year's Eve at Disneyland back in 1967 would you take it? Wouldn't that be amazing?! Can you imagine the sounds in the air? The music? The excitement? Well friends, this New Year's Eve we are going to do just that! I can't think of a better way to ring in the New Year. So friends, your ticket to the event awaits you in today's new article as we travel back to New Year's Eve night at Disneyland back in 1967....

Here is your ticket to this "Gala New Year's Eve Party at Disneyland". Thanks to Pepsi-Cola and their sponsoring of a special radio broadcast, we are about to hear a live recording of New Year's Eve night at Disneyland from 1967 that was pressed on vinyl and sent to radio stations nationwide. It featured the ambient sounds of the Park and many popular performers who regularly appeared in Disneyland at that time. Those performers included the Mustangs, the Main Streeters, Betty Taylor (from the Golden Horseshoe Revue), and the Firehouse Five Plus Two. Take a look at the album art...

Friends, before you get whisked away on this nostalgic delight, I would personally like to wish each and every one of you a happy and prosperous New Year. We have so much fun here on Disney Avenue and if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't be one of the top Disney blogs around. Here's to 2016 and many more magical memories...

And with that being said, let's now journey back to Disneyland of 1967 and join the crowd for a swinging good time. Happy New Year everyone...
